I have approximately 4.8 TB of music on my 5TB portable HDD attached to my server (newish MacBook Pro). I have purchased a 6TB HDD and would like to move the music from my current HDD to the new one.
I have an application called Carbon Copy Cloner.
Am I able to clone my existing 5TB HDD to the 6TB HDD. Everything will be an exact replica. If I do this, when I log back into Roon, with just the new 6TB HDD attached, will Roon automatically use the new 6TB HDD?

I do not believe it will.
You will have to just go into settings and edit your music storage location to the new location.
I am not sure what will happen to your play counts and similar though from your original storage location as Roon will see it as new even though its the same music.
You shouldn’t lose any metadata if you follow the proper procedure. Editing the location (as opposed to adding a new one) Making sure that Roon never sees both copies should ensure that Roon sees it as the same files, just on a different disk
Thanks. Looks pretty easy. I had another HDD where I also had one of my server backups (metadata, playcounts etc) saved to. This was scheduled daily. I cloned this drive to a new one, and plugged in the new drive (removed the old one) and it backed up the server to this new one (without me making any changes to the directory).
