There is no “party mode” or any useful functionality regarding profiles as of yet, as i see it.
And i am the only user in my home, but even if we were more than one, i don’t see us using it.
My point is, remove this in all cases where no more than one user are involved.
But the queue is for the zone and is across all users so any user adding music it will just show who added it. I guess it’s just default behaviour and has no logic if there is only one user in Roon to not display it. Don’t have a problem with it.
IIRC is there also a “default” user for tracks added by Roon Radio. So even if there is only one physical user, there are IIRC more (logical) users in the system. As I’m not a Roon Radio user myself, I obviously don’t see this other user listed but he’s there (IIRC) and having Roon Radio turned on for every zone is even the default. So i do not think that Roon Labs will remove the functionality and if they wanted to they had to/would probably do it by the status of the Roon Radio functionality (show it if there is one or more zone enabled with Roon Radio turned on) in addition to active user profiles (the only “physical” users Roon knows about).
I would rather see when a playlist was added and maybe still by who, as adding a playlist is far for impacting on a playlist than just adding a track/album
I test and was tired of my testing corrupting my history. So testing Profiles.
Different profiles per genre keeps roon radio focused. So, Holiday, Classical,Jazz profiles play only their respective genres. So if using the Jazz profile which has only ever played Jazz, Roon Radio rarely if ever varies, etc for Classical.
Daily Mixes and suggestions are based on History and generated per profile. So I get hyper focused suggestions with the different profiles.
I guess I could divide it further, but when it comes to Rock, etc I don’t mind it all mixed. But if I did, I’d create 80s, Industrial/Darkwave, etc
To me, like I assume to most users, this "added by " line is quite useless as is, but I made a feature request a while ago to add some actually usefull information to it:
