Raspberry Pi 400 plus DACBerry 400

What do the audio experts say about this Soundcard solution?

I should send one in to Amir over at ASR for testing. It’s probably at least as good as the internal DAC in my Apple MacBook Pro.

I don’t see a separate clock chip. If it’s getting its clock from the Pi 400, there might be audible jitter. The mic input is a nice touch. I would not have minded paying an extra $10-20 to have this integrated into my Pi 400. It’s a fun little machine. Reminds me of my old Commodore 64 every time I use it.

Edit: Should work fine with Roon Bridge. I may pick one up and give it a try.

I love forum posts like this because I’m just not knowledgeable enough to make such purchasing decisions. In the end, no one here expects the highest quality, but the best price for a solution that still works well. Thanks for this technical assessment.
