Rebuild ROCK from scratch

I want to do a complete system rebuild of my ROCK and Reinstall ROON as I have stupidly forgotten the password to the ROON server. I have a lifetime subscription.

I’ve done a search and am failing to find a step by step to do what I’m after. Could someone point me at such a dummies guide? I have a successful, recent backup of my DB on my QNAP server

Roon Server Machine

  • Intel NUC NUC8I5BEK Core i5 Barebone Mini PC, i5-8259U, 2x DDR4 SODIMM, 1x M.2 Slot
  • 8GB RAM, Crucial 8GB
  • WD 240GB SSD, WD Green SSD, M.2 2280 SATA

Networking Gear & Setup Details

  • TP-Link Archer VR2800
  • QNAP Server (LawsonNAS) TS-231

Connected Audio Devices

  • NAD M10
  • Cambridge CXC CD Transport
  • Apple TV 4K
  • BlueSound Pulse Mini
  • BlueSound Plus Flex 2i

Number of Tracks in Library
1458 Albums
21717 Tracks

ROCK simply has guest for both the user and password; AFAIK this can’t be changed to anything else…

D’oh. You’re right, Geoff, thank you. I was able to log on as guest/guest and create and delete files.

I feel all sorts of stupid, as I’d bought myself a wired keyboard and mouse to do the rebuild again, and a new monitor (which I needed anyway) is coming in a day or two!!

There’s another question that I have for after this, but I’ll do my research before i ask the brains trust here.

Thanks Frank, appreciate the link. @Geoff_Coupe has given me the answer I need, but I may need this as I move to a different data source for my small library
