We all like our comfort music, but I love to discover new music too. The purpose of this topic is simple:
Which new albums would you like to recommend to other Roon users?
Rules:
Any recommended album must have been released in the last month.
Re-issues, re-masterings, etc. do not count; this is about NEW music.
A maximum of one post per week is enforced in this topic.
You may recommend more than one album per post, but please do so only if they are really worthy of recommendation.
Anything breaching these rules will be deemed off-topic.
Let’s keep the artistic quality high here. You don’t have to post every week; just post occasionally when something really grabs you, rather than something that you’ve just listened to (there are other topics for that).
Sounds like a good thread. I shall limit myself to one single album post a month, but only if I’ve got something to recommend. From the past month this is my recommendation.
Witch (We Intend to Cause Havoc) was an influential 1970s Zamrock band, that has released its first album in 39 years, and it’s very good and relevant.
IMHO Jason Isbell has firmly established himself as one of the leading artists in the alt-country/country rock/Americana (for want of better terms) genres, supported by the excellent musicians of The 400 Unit. His most recent album Weathervanes may well be his best to date, and his own excellent guitar playing is again complemented by the outstanding Sadler Vaden (whose solo work is well worth seeking out). I’d imagine this being in my top 10 releases of 2023 come the end of the year.
