Roon has this as singularly folk, but that is just one smidge of what this collective offers. They kinda remind me of Chumbawama without the attitude and morality lessons and/or Dog Faced Hermans without the repetitiveness, sax, and ineffectual singing—basically pulling the best bits from these two bands and providing polyrhythms with wonderful singing in multiple languages… AND MORE!

These days there aren’t many hiphop / rap artists that I like. Modern days R&B is, for me at least, something totally different then some old-school rap.
So when I listen to rap (rarely these days), it’s old stuff.
This one from last year pleasantly surprised me: first of all this is old-school (hell, the guy is grandfather 
), but it sounds far from dated.

This was suggested at my Roon home screen (thanks). The concerto is wonderful. The second movement evokes a line of fleeing refugees – deep stuff.

I hadn’t realised that this discussion was about the Common Saints album. I had a second listen to it this morning and it really is very good and into my BandCamp wishlist it went for the next big checkout
