Hi Harry,
I am not sure any people has reported this problem to you yet!
I updated my ropieee to 2025.10. When I was playing DSD in dsf format, ropieee stopped playing the current track at random location and skip to next track. It play in this way until it reached the end of the playlist.
I carried out various tests to confirm the problem was coming from ropieee. I rollback the ropieee to 2025.08.2 and rerun the tests with the same problem exist. I further rollback the ropieee to 2025.08.1 and rerun the test. The track skipping issue is not exist in this version (2025.08.1).
I have sent a fackback on 2025.10 with the ID# 89a72f64efa6cc02. Do let me know if you have any questions or further tests are needed.
Best regards,
Alfred
Does it happen with Roon, UPNP, HQPlayer NAA or Squeezelite?
Just tried using UPNP (JPlay for iOS/Minimserver) and the same occurs here … feedback 22b8a102e8cc6d44
Hmmmm…
That doesn’t look good. I see multiple issues with UPnP about ‘unsupported format’ errrors…
Nothing changed in 2025.10, but it’s not ok.
I’ll investigate asap…
In my setup, I only use UPnP!
I found this problem started in 2025.08.2 and 2025.08.1 is fine. I think somethings have changed in 2025.08.2 to cause this issue.
For reference, here’s the report: [Bug]: problems with upnp in the update 2025.10 · Issue #23 · RoPieee/RoPieee · GitHub
I can reproduce the issue is myself. The weird thing: nothing changed in those releases in relation to UPnP, so that’s my next goal: trying to figure out what’s going on.
Ok… I might have a solution. The ‘might’ is that it works for me, but I’m very curious how this pans out for other people.
I’m thinking of releasing an early beta for people to test… any volunteers?
Here I am …
I’m always happy to test, but I don’t use UPnP so the best I can offer here is to confirm other things haven’t changed/broken.
