Description of Issue

I have a long playlist (170 albums, ~2200 tracks) that I cycle through regularly, moving between my three different zones. If I want to listen to something that is not on that playlist (or my wife wants to listen to something different), how do I remember where I was in the playlist so that I can return to that location? I do not shuffle songs in general (I listen to entire albums), so I have had to arrange the playlist as ‘pre shuffled’. Is there a different mechanism in Roon (other than the queue and playlists) which would help with this?

History list?

You can use play actions to insert tracks or albums into the queue without destroying the current playlist position.

Or, enable a zone from an unused audio device on your core, rename it “Hold Queue” or similar, and transfer the playlist queue there when want to listen to something different. Simply transfer the queue back to your preferred zone when you want to continue where you left off.
