Removing Duplicate Audio Files

I’ve probably got around 10,000 tracks imported to Roon, and throughout the years of collection some of which have become duplicates of others - and I wasn’t intending on importing these files into Roon until I had the duplicates deleted, but now that they’re accidentally imported, I’d like to figure out some way of deleting the dupes… got any suggestion? Should I just delete the files off the hard disk, or should I delete them out of Roon? If deleted out of hard disk will Roon update that information, or will I get a lot of error messages and such?

Also,

I mostly use streaming services up until importing my own library - and it seems that the two collections (streamed favorites and imported mp3 etc) have merged into one large location that I’m unhappy with as I’d like to keep the two separate, any suggestions on this aswell?

Thanks all…

If you delete local files in Roon, they will also be deleted from the hard drive. So, be careful.

One of the main points of Roon is to merge local and streaming into one collection.

If you weren’t expecting to add them to the library yet, then, I would undo the library addition until the local files are ready. It is, imho, always better to clean up everything before adding music to Roon.

Just delete them from the hard disk and have Roon to rescan (you can just restart the server). Lastly go to settings > library > Clean up Library. Even if you don’t do this step immediately, Roon will be aware of the missing files and never complain.
