I would love the ability to select only female artist (or male for that matter) in the FOCUS mode.

So what you really want is for Roon metadata to include the information whether the person (only singer? what about instrumentalists?) is m/f/d? Good luck 
Probably. I don’t know if that information is available. But it would be wonderful to add it to FOCUS and only see the female singers in my library
It would be nice (though a can of worms) but I am not hopeful - we would be happy if the credits as such existed consistently
