This message is so ridiculous, especially because who really play mp3 via Roon

Strange, because Roon uses the system-provided codecs on Windows. Can you try if Windows Media Player (or whatever is the Windows standard player these days) on your machine can play mp3 or aac?

It could be Windows 10 N edition, which doesn’t have media components out of the box.
