RIP Ace!
The KISS Army salutes you!
Such sad news. I had no idea he was doing that poorly.
I read he had cancelled his current tour due to health issues but the same here, I did not know it was that serious.
Oh wow. Easy to deride but in reality this was the band that gifted rock to my life, and Destroyer remains a monument. Rock on!
Totally agree on Destroyer, it was a game changer for me back then!
Detroit Rock City was our anthem for the longest while!
From what I just read, he had a fall a week or so ago and didn’t recover.
And, Ditto on Destroyer.
Huge influence. He’s one of my top 3…Ace, Terry Kath and Alex Lifeson. This one stings quite a bit for me.
It will be interesting to see if Simmons and Stanley can manage to be gracious in their comments.
Despite their belief that THEY were KISS it’s simply not true.
The world taking by storm shock rock band we all knew and loved called KISS was four guys.
Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace.
God speed Ace.
In a joint statement, Stanley and Simmons said, “We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy.”
Me too, the kitchen noises, the car driving and the guitars coming in - it was amazing, and moved between the speakers! I used to strain to hear the details on my little record player
