Grew up on CDB. My fav tune was Cumberland Mountain Number 9 off the Saddle Tramp album. Shore was disappointed with his jingoistic political ranting in the later years.
It was the Golden Age of Southern Rock with CDB, Marshall Tucker, Skynyrd, Allman Bros and many more. Go from the South listening to those albums and head North and be inundated by Disco. CDB was certainly unique, and he was quite a character.
