RIP Steve Albini 😥

Out of the blue, a heart attack:

With the new Shellac album (the first in 10 years) expected in just 9 days:

Thinking back, absolutely unbelievable what this guy has done. A giant indeed. Sleep well.

Sad day, it was mentioned in the Rocking music thread earlier but I kind of tuned it out.
Just had to reread the details.

I listened to Big Black - Atomizer in memory of him when I first saw the sad news earlier today. I first started to really pay attention to him/them when the Il Duce 7 inch was released, and then Atomizer.
Really sad day.

61 is young, even in the business of Rock & Roll. RIP.

Btw, heart attack suffered at his recording studio, in case you were wondering.

This is terrible. I admired his production work so much and also admired his non-mainstream attitudes.

Time for Surfer Rosa.

Saw this about 6:30 GMT sad times. I played Sea Monsters by The Wedding Present after hearing as my salute.

Sad news.

Good memories with his music/productions.

So many favorites, time to start with Trouser Minnow from Rapeman and VERY LOUD.

A unique figure in music business… Many lovely productions will be his legacy to me, and his refusal to accept royalties will always be a sobriety sign to the music business.

Incredibly sad news. A singular talent as a performer, producer, engineer and much more.

My Steve Albini choice for tonight. He was engineer on this seminal release.

Great album @Simon_Arnold3

Very sad to hear of his passing. 61 isn’t old at all. :disappointed:

No far too young.
