RJ45 connections

Hi there,

A question that I have and like to ask here.

Do I need to connect my Roon Server (Macbook Pro) to my music streamer via the internet Router in my home, or maybe directly?
I like to use (Ethernet) cables.

Via a router or even a switch , it won’t work with an Ethernet cable between PC and device

So it’s

PC → router

Then

router → device
