ROCK - Linn HDMI - ARC - television

When playing 5.1 albums this is my current setup:

In Roon:

The music is playing just fine.

But! If I than want to use the television (Linn ARC connection - HDMI Out) than there is no sound through my Linn - only through the speakers in the television.

If I than remove the HDMI cable from Roon Server (ROCK) and reboot the Linn than sound is coming through from my television.

So if there is a HDMI connection from ROCK to my Linn than there is no sound from my television to my Linn (no sound through the HDMI ARC connection)

What can be the problem and how to fix it?

Did you check Linn‘s vast and confusing documentation about HDMI eARC compatibility yet, to see if it might be a Linn rather than Roon restriction?

Can‘t really do the research for you, since there are so many model and configuration variants, and your exact device description is not clear to me.

It is hard to tell if it is a Roon or a Linn problem. I just know, if the a HDMI cable (from Linn) is connected to Roon Server (ROCK - NUC) and I want to have sound from the television, than there are no sound. If i remove this cable and do a reboot the sound is back.

Have you read the linked resource that quickly?
What about your audio dealer, don‘t they supply after sales support?

Is seems that the problem was related to bad HDMI cable. After replacing it with a new, it works.
