ROCK running on NUC stopped ripping. It worked fine for the first two CDs I ripped. Then the interface showed that no CD reader was connected (when in fact it was). Reboot did not work. Restart did not work. Pulling off the plug and replugging did not work… Is there a solution ?
I and numerous others have had this issue in the past. The only thing that worked for me was to disconnect the USB cable from the NUC. With the cable disconnected then power cycle the Nuc. After the NUC is back up then reconnect the USB to the NUC and try the Rip. I’ve had this occur numerous times and each time that worked for me.
This is or was a known problem but I haven’t heard of it in a while.
Dear Menzies, thank you for your kind reply. I ended up doing a “resetnetwork”, doing a few reboots and restarts, and finally manually creating the “CD Rips” folder. Not sure it was in the right order, but it worked in the end. Of course, I lot the very small (3 albums) library, that I had set up with the first 3 ripped CDs. Not a big loss, and will be corrected in future with backing up to my Synology NAS. Thank you again.
Dear Mike, thank you very much for your kind reply. As noted above, I finally found a solution, which involved doing a “resetnetwork”, resetting the database, and manually creating the “CD Rips” folder in the end. Not sure everything was necessary but it worked in the end. The simple procedure you had suggested was tried, but unfortunately without success in my case. Thank you for your kind offer to help, and your insights! Best wishes, Theodore
