rooDial & rooExtend extensions keep disappearing on Roon Nucleus

Roon Nucleus

Roon version: 2.0 (build 1311) production
RoonOS version 1.0 (build 259) production
Vendor version: 1.0 (build 14) production

Model: Nucleus, i3 CPU, 16Gb RAM

Purchased rooDial and setup rooExtend on a Pi to use Surface Dial as a volume remote for my NAD M10 V2. Has been working fine until the last firmware update of roon, the extension keeps disappearing.

Have to restart Nucleus and or amplifier to get them to show back up ?

Please advise.

Regards,

Mark

Hi there @Mark_Whinnem, I hope you don’t mind me recategorizing your post from nucleus support to audio gear talk, since rooDial and rooExtend are not Roon‘s products.
I‘ll also tag @DrCWO for you, since he‘s those extensions’ developer…
Good luck!

Hi @Marin_Weigel,
Would you please shift the posting here, this is the correct place and I will answer.

Hi,

Any advice regarding the extension keep disappearing on roon Nucleus, this only seems to have started to happen since recent firmware update to roon ?

Regards,

Mark

Please try to restart you Nucleus. After that power on rooExtend. There is definitely no issue with the recent firmware update from Roon.

If you use WiFi instead of Ethernet this may also be the reason why. WiFi in a Roon environment is not recommended by Roon and it is not really stable with rooExtend.
