Roon 2.0 Build 1389 "Large Tags" Question

The notes reference the following

What is the definition of “large tags”. I assume it refers to the number of objects that are so tagged and being edited, but, how many objects must that be to be classified large?

There isn’t a sharp cutoff anywhere. The change takes an operation which used to scale with the square of the number of objects tagged to one which scales linearly with the number of objects tagged. That is, previously if you multiplied the the number of objects by 100 the time taken would go up by a factor of ~10,000 and now it will go up by a factor of ~100.

It will be faster for any number of tagged objects. In my testing before the fix I didn’t really notice the slowness until I had thousands of tracks on the same tag, and ~10,000 after the fix should be similar to ~100 before the fix. The specifics will depend on your system and the scaling is almost certainly not exactly linear even after the fix, but this might give you some idea.
