We are happy to announce that Roon 2.71 is live! It is a stability- and performance-focused release that brings together fixes and refinements across RoonServer, Roon Remote, and Roon ARC.
This release includes a good number of changes that should make Roon feel smoother and more reliable day to day — from server performance to live radio playback and beyond.
As for the new features, we’re introducing Daily Picks, a new recommendation feature that helps you rediscover your library and explore new music. Available in Roon and Roon ARC, it delivers a fresh set of personalized picks to your Home screen each day, drawn from your listening history.
Daily Picks
Daily Picks gives you a new reason to open Roon every morning.
Every day, Roon will deliver three to five picks to your Home screen, drawn from your own listening, some from the past few weeks, and some reaching further back to surface a forgotten favorite.
Each pick tells you where it came from and opens into a full set of albums to browse, play, or save to Listen Later. Some days, Roon will even surface a brand-new release from an artist you listen to. Tomorrow brings a completely new slate of recommendations, so make sure to check in daily.
Daily Picks are available in Roon and Roon ARC. Picks are generated based on your history, so make sure you have enough listening in your profile, and a connected streaming service -- in order to see Daily Picks.
RoonServer performance
We’ve improved RoonServer’s performance, particularly when browsing your library and using multiple remotes connected to the same core. Previously, RoonServer could slow down after several days of continuous use, especially in households with more than one remote in regular use. Disconnecting and reconnecting a remote should now properly release the resources it was using, helping RoonServer stay more responsive during long uptimes.
Qobuz sync improvements
We’ve addressed a couple of syncing issues affecting Qobuz users. Some customers saw their Qobuz playlists appear empty, and in other cases, Qobuz libraries wouldn’t complete a full sync with Roon. Both were caused by timing-related issues on our end and should now be resolved.
Live Radio and playback
Live Radio playback should now be more reliable: we’ve fixed a bug that caused certain HLS streams to lag around 30 minutes behind the actual broadcast. We’ve also made sure Roon correctly recognizes when your output device goes into standby during a Live Radio session, and fixed an issue where tracks picked up during a Live Radio session could incorrectly show up in your Played Recently activity and History.
For Roon ARC, we’ve fixed several playback-related bugs, including issues with classical compositions, playlist interactions, and download behaviour.
Bug Fixes
A couple of visual issues have also been fixed in this release. On some Android phones — including certain Samsung and Pixel models — colours in Roon Remote could appear oversaturated, and text could be harder to read; this should now display correctly. We’ve also fixed an issue on some Windows PCs with ARM processors (such as certain Surface devices), where text and the cursor in the search bar were invisible.

Installation
