Yes, I have the same thing. Very frustrating. More so now that I have just got a more modern vehicle with a touch screen (‘progress’ supposedly) meaning that it’s really not practical or safe to navigate the carplay app to manually resume playback whilst driving.
All in all ARC has become a very polished and decent user experience, with just two gripes remaining for me; this and the issue of not displaying all albums via CarPlay (posted on the separate thread about that).
please!!! this is the only thing I am really missing right now, Please just make it autoplay when connected to CarPlay, it is annoying having to take the phone out my pocket, open arc and hit play
I also have this issue on my iPhone 15 Pro. I have to manually open the iPhone app and press play to resume playback of a Playlist on CarPlay. I find that if I’ve not used my phone much since the previous connection attempt, then the playback resumes automatically, but if I’ve used other apps, then the resume will fail. This suggests this may be a memory management issue, maybe iOS is unloading the Roon ARC app, and this causes the playlist to get ‘forgotton’. I have about 600 songs in my ARC library. Maybe I need a new iPhone with more RAM, but I would have hopeed that the 8GB in my 15 Pro would be sufficient.
