Roon arc configuration with tailscale

Hi,

Despite I’ve installed tailscale, the same problem persist

Roon arc doesn’t work!
I’ve tried to change the port with 0 and nothing change. Someone can help me?
Thanks

The ‘Ready’/‘Not ready’ status in the Roon → Settings → Roon ARC page and the diagnostic text are irrelevant when using Tailscale. They only pertain to port forwarding and you are using Tailscale to avoid the need for port forwarding. The port number is also not important when using Tailscale (unlike with port forwarding where it must be chosen to avoid conflicts with other devices on your network). With tailscale, you are effectively creating a direct route from your mobile to the Roon Server and so any port not used by other services on the Roon Server will work.

If you have installed tailscale, then, mobile bandwidth issues aside, it should just work. If not, then there is something wrong with your Tailscale setup either on your server or on your mobile.

Some details of your system and how you setup Tailscale may well help people determine what might be wrong.

What machine and OS are you using to host your Roon Server?

What mobile device are you using?

Have you got Tailscale configured on your mobile? Do you have it configured for use by all internet connectivity on the Mobile or have you set up a ‘split tunnel’ so that only Roon ARC communication uses the Tailscale tunnel?

Finally, if you look in the settings screen of Roon ARC on your mobile, what do you see there in the connectivity status?

E.g. on My working ARC setup:

Thanks for your answer. I’ve solved. Now it works. Have a nice day

Luca
