Hi @Michael_Gross,

Depending on your tier of account and geographic area, you might be able to set a manual port forwarding rule by taking the following steps within the router’s web administration. Below is a related, though not identical, Telekom modem/router combo interface:

  1. Port Activation

  2. Set a manual port forwarding rule

If these steps aren’t helpful, then it’s likely your account tier is behind a layer of carrier-grade network address translation (CG-NAT). It’s worth reaching out to your ISP to inquire if they are using either

  1. IPv6 format external addresses or
  2. CG-NAT with dynamic IPv4 address assignment.

In either case, they might be able to provide you with a dedicated external IP address to allow for port forwarding to automatically configure in the meantime.

Dear technical team, I had already tried these settings without success. As Roon Core I use the Zen MK 3. Nevertheless I do not get access with these settings. I use Telekom Smart 3 rooter and I choose the IPv4 format. Thank you for your support

Hi @Michael_Gross,

Thank you for your patience and we’re sorry to hear you continue to experience this issue. Do you have any more recent diagnostics from the Roon ARC Settings page in Roon to share?

If you’d set a port forwarding rule as directed by the screenshots above, it’s worth verifying that the port number (55000 above, for instance), matches the port listed in Roon → Settings → ARC. Sometimes, Roon will find that 55000 is already in use on your network, and attempt to automatically configure to a different port number. If you’ve set 55000 as a hard rule, the ports won’t match.

We’ll keep an eye out for your response.

Hi all,

I had the same challenge with my Telekom Speedport Smart 3 Router as Michael. Roon ARC could not access my ROCK system remotely.

The screenshot as provided by connor was then the solution. In my case the port was 55002; the relevant port number was given by Roon. Start your roon software. Go to “Settings” and then “Roon ARC” and the port number will be given. Here you can also check whether your ARC connection is correctly configured (ready) or not.

Just one more remark: In the Speedport Smart 3 software you have to activate the “Expert view” first. Just then you can see the “Port activation” tab.

For me it is now working perfectly fine - with the set manual port forwarding of the respective port for my ROCK system.

Thanks connor for your advise on this topic.

Hi Harald,

Thanks for your advice to activate der Roon ARC. Unfortunately, I have performed these steps listed by Connoer including the port designation 55002, but this error message still exists, see below. Could you send me a screenshot how you set up the Speedport Smart?

Thank`s a lot
Michael
