@Bryan_Geary, welcome to the Community.
Thank you for your patience while we’ve diligently worked to reach every request for support with port forwarding. The diagnostics you’ve provided suggest that UPnP is not properly configured on your router.
Please first try the following steps:
Try to enable UPnP/NATPMP in the web administration interface for the router directly upstream from your Core
Try to manually open the port in your router’s port forwarding configuration
Make sure the IP/Port matches the Port listed in Roon → Settings → ARC
Check for any VPNs or Firewalls that might be interfering
Check if your modem is in Bridge mode
If you continue to experience difficulties, please tag the support team and include the following information:
What is the make and model of your modem and router?
Do you have any additional network hardware, like additional routers or managed switches?
Who is your internet service provider and what is your geographic region?
Is your Modem configured in Bridge Mode so that it operates only as a modem or do you have the ports forwarded on both?
UPnP is enabled and I Port triggering set to match Arc.
Router bridged to ATT Modem = Nighthawk AX6 AX5400 WiFi Router(RAX50v2)
Firewall set to let Roon through
Error remains as:
{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:502,“error”:“error: Error: connect ECONNREFUSED 104.aaa.bbb.ccc:55002, response code: undefined, body: undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“104.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}
}
For clarification, what AT&T gateway do you have, the BGW320 or something else (I have an older model gateway), and is your AT&T gateway set to Bridge mode (I am not sure this is possible as AT&T uses the gateway to monitor security with it) or is the AX6 set to Bridge mode?

Best I can tell this modem does not have a bridge mode but an IP passthrough option.
No idea if this helps or solves anything.
@Bryan_Geary, There are two options:
-
Set the AX6 to bridge mode and let the BGW320 handle all routing and IP address assignment
-
Have all network connections run through the AX6, with the AX6 being the only device connected to the BGW320, and de-activate WiFi on the BGW320. The AX6 and BGW320 both remain in router mode (this is similar to what I have).
Then for Option 2, do the following:
A) Create a port forwarding rule on the BGW320 from the BGW320 to the AX6 using the LAN IP address of the primary AX6 router and the port number being what is shown in Roon’s Settings → Roon ARC tab. The BGW320 Port Forwarding tab is listed under NAT/Gaming, not IP Passthrough.
B) Create a port forwarding rule on the AX6 router from the AX6 router to the computer running your Roon Core using the LAN IP address of the computer running Roon Core and the port number being what is shown in Roon’s Settings → Roon ARC tab.
Robert, I posted this support request a week ago: roon arc with starlink router bypassed still not working
and this a day later: https://community.roonlabs.com/t/starlink-arc-with-ipv6-address/256818?u=zed_mus
and i have no reply to either.
looking on this post you apologise for the delay replying to a support request 2 days ago??? while you diligently work to reach every request for support? what happened to my support requests???
@Zeki_Mustafa, I am a volunteer moderator and do not work for Roon or their Support team.
I responded to Bryan’s post as this is a known configuration issue with which I have some background on addressing.
Your issue with Starlink is a different problem than the one in this thread, and it will require specific support from Roon. Your request is in Roon’s support queue.
right thanks
Robert- thank you for your insights.
I fear this is more complicated than I’m willing to tackle since I work from home and do want wish to get to a point I cannot get online to work.
I do wish Roon would make this less complicated.
Bryan
@Bryan_Geary, I use Option 2, keeping both routers in router mode and set port forwarding rules as I described. My home network is not disrupted and AT&T’s gateway does what AT&T needs it to do. Only a suggestion, but others have been successful with this approach to get ARC working with this configuration.
