ARC Status

· ARC is *Not Ready*

Roon Error Code

· None of these are listed. It simply says "TIMEDOUT" or similar.

System or third-party *firewalls *or *antivirus software* can sometimes block RoonServer from reaching ARC.

·
Try adding RoonServer and its associated processes to the whitelist of any firewalls or antivirus software you have installed, including the Windows system firewall, if applicable.
[You can learn more about firewall exceptions with Roon here.](https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/firewall)

Has the status in Roon -> Settings -> ARC changed after adding exceptions in your firewalls and antivirus software for Roon?
I don't have any system or third-party firewalls or antivirus software.

Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?

· I've turned UPnP/ NAT-PMP on and ARC won't connect

Describe your network setup

ISP: Verizon Fios
Router Make/Model: Arcadyan G3100 (Verizon Fios Router)
Modem: Integrated into the G3100 (no separate modem)
UPnP: Enabled (or disabled if using Tailscale)

Network Topology:

G3100 router connected directly to Verizon’s ONT (fiber terminal).

Roon Server is connected via Ethernet to G3100

Other smart devices (phones, tablets) on the same local Wi-Fi network (Sorrento 6G SSID).

Roon Server Details:

OS: macOS // RoonOS app

ARC: Installed and active on iOS with Tailscale

Roon Server IP address: (e.g., 192.168.1.123)

ARC device IP (if needed): 100.105.28.11

Port forwarding was not used; instead, using Tailscale to create a secure connection between mobile and Roon Server.

Roon ARC is able to reach the server successfully via Tailscale when outside the local network.

Hello @arturoperrone,

Thank you for reaching out to Roon support.

If you are using Tailscale, it is expected behavior for the Roon → Settings → Roon ARC diagnostic page to display an error code. This occurs because the device hosting your Roon Server is not accessible from outside your local network. Tailscale creates a secure, private network between your devices, effectively simulating a LAN connection.

Please confirm the following:

  • If you are not using ARC via a direct internet connection, go to Settings → Roon ARC and enter 0 in the Port field to disable port forwarding.
  • Once this is done, the status should display “Not Ready”, which confirms that port forwarding has been disabled.
