So the first oddity that I’ve encountered is for Roon Radio, there’s a thumbs up and thumbs down feature, but it’s only visible from the queue, and only possible to thumbs up or down the upcoming track most of which I’ve likely never heard and can’t actually use this feature as that’s a pretty nonsensical use case. It should be for the active track, and accessible on the play screen.
The second oddity is that you can’t heart any track unless the album has been added to your library, you also can’t heart an artist unless an album has also been added to your library? You should be able to heart any track or artist at any time. It’s strange that these requirements exist in the first place? I assume this is a bug, or if this is an intentional feature can someone explain why?
I did search for Roon ARC topics and the search function did not return any results that seemed to match. I am aware how to use the internet and how to search before posting. [moderated]
And regarding the favorite hearts, many Roon functions are only available for items that were added to the Roon library, and favorites are one of them.
It’s an architectural limitation because Roon servers at home can’t hold all information for 100 million tracks on a streaming service.
See the help here:
It would be great if that didn’t exist and Roon Labs knows, but it can probably only happen if Roon moved to the cloud and therefore could eliminate the performance restrictions of local servers. (But this would have its own downsides).
By the why, neither the radio thumbs nor the favorite hearts are specific to ARC, it’s the same in the main Roon app.
