Roon ARC unable to connect outside home network with port 55002 error (ref#L4IX40)

Network Setup

· My only router was provided by my ISP

ARC Status

· ARC is *Not Ready*

Roon Error Code

· “natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}, “upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”} }

Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?

· UPnP is not listed in my router settings

· How would you like to continue with the network configuration?
I would like to try and find a solution for UPnP/NAT-PMP on Roon Community

Describe the issue

Hi, OK Roon Arc only works on the same network at home, when I'm out of the house nothing is connected, so I can't connect at all even on CarPlay or phone. When I try to connect it at home on the Mac it just says Not Ready. It reads Port 55002. I don't know much about the router settings and don't want to make a mistake as we rely in the router for work. I'm not that technical when it comes to this kind of thing. This is the most important part of owning the Nucleus One in the first place so I really want this to connect. I hope you can help me. this is the diagnostics {
"ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"},
"external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"94.aaa.bbb.ccc","actual_external_ipv6":"null","router_external_ip":"null"},
"natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"},
"upnp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"}
} thanks Richard

Describe your network setup

Sky is the ISP and its connected to a Switch and its Mac OS

If your router does not support uPnP or natPmP, you should be able to set up a manual port forwarding rule.

In you router’s web UI, you should be able to find a page to setup port forwarding, usually in the WAN settings page. On this page you will need to setup a rule to forward TCP connections on port 55002 (your configured ARC port) to the ip address of your Roon Server (shown on the same page as the diagnostic text that you copied above). If the port forwarding settings asks for source and destination ip addresses, then the source ip address should be left blank and the destination ip address should be set to the ip address of your Roon Server.

I have read of some issues with SKY’s support for port forwarding on some of the most recent connections.

If, for this reason, or any other, you can’t get port forwarding working, you can always setup Tailscale on your Nucleus One and then install the Tailscale app on you phone. In this case, the Roon ARC settings page will continue to report ‘Not Ready’ with the diagnostic text but this is irrelevant.
