It looks like you may have a multiple NAT setup. To confirm this, please share message from Settings > Roon ARC. Edit the external IP to 123.123.xxx.xxx before posting.

As requested:

{
"connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"},
"external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"81.159.x.x","router_external_ip":null},
"natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"},
"upnp_autoconfig": {"server_ip":"192.168.1.254","found_upnp":true,"error":"Did not find UPnP service with WANIPConnection on network"}
}

Did you see my last reply?

The message indicates that you have a double layer of NAT in the local network or with your service provider.

Please see the Multiple NAT section in this guide.

Hello Martin.

As far as I can see I have to to change my BT Smart Hub 2 to bridge or modem mode. Is that correct?

However I have trawled the internet and cannot find a method to do this.

Thanks

Unfortunately, you can’t do this with the BT Smart Hub. Therefore, you need to setup port forwarding in the Smart Hub and the Deco.

Essentially, something like this…

Internet (81.159.xxx.xxx) → Smart Hub (192.168.0.1) → Deco (192.168.1.1)

…so setup port forwarding in the Smart Hub to 192.168.1.1 (if this is the IP of the Deco) and in the Deco, either use UPnP or port forward to 192.168.1.254 (or whatever is the IP of your core) using port from Settings > Roon ARC.
