Roon Display. The Progress Bar Is Too Thin

I noticed that since one of the last updates the progress bar has become too thin and now it is almost impossible to follow the progress of the playback :face_with_monocle:

Is it possible to fix or improve this somehow?

This is all dependent on the recording… This just means the recording you’re playing has a relatively low playback level. You should not see us on all recordings, and unless all of your recordings either have a very high dynamic range, or are all soft.

I forgot to mention that this is the Qobuz stream - FLAC 44.1kHz 24 bit
And all streaming content (TIDAL and Qobuz) has such thin progress bar.
Of course while playing local files the waveform bar is displayed.

Oh, another thought - I think Roon will show this when it has not been able to analyze the song for levels. I am not sure how to make this happen with streaming content, as I am not a streaming user.

That’s true, but this line used to be different.
Something like this

Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I don’t usually look that closely at that. I don’t know how Roon gets the waveforms for streaming content. I am pretty useless here, sorry.

Hey @Serge_Tse,

Thanks for performing that test, we have added this info to the investigation ticket. The ticket has been submitted for developer review, meaning that this may take some time to be reviewed.

There aren’t any additional details needed at this time, so we will go ahead and close the thread for the time being, and if any other questions arise after the developers have reviewed the case, we will re-open the thread and reach out once more.

Thanks again for your report, and thank you in advance for your patience as the ticket progresses through the development queue for review.

Maybe this was a step towards implementing the waveform feature when streaming from TIDAL/Qobuz :grinning:

Hellop @Serge_Tse,

Regrettably, no — this limitation is imposed directly by the streaming services, and unfortunately, we’re unable to bypass it.
