Music plays through the macbook, not HiFi
Have you tried deleting the DSJ, reboot the Core and then re-enable the DSJ?
I had this happen with my DS Sr a while back.
I think I may have also powered down the DS before I rebooted the Core, and then turned it on once the Core was up.

One other thing, I know you are going to think this is crazy, but did you check to make sure your DS is on the correct input? I assume Bridge.
