ROON HDMI Display on NAS

I like the streaming display feature to show playback on Chrome. Obviously it would be more useful to have it display on my actual display connected to the NAS I use to run Roon. Is this not possible? Im running a QNAP and have not dove under the hood to see if I need to have a user account logged in and then launch the app locally. Could it be that easy?

I never tried. But I can only think of 2 options here:

  • Have the full Roon running in a Windows VM (unsure if OpenGL is supported in a VM on QNAP).
    And just for a Display this seems not very leightweight

  • the other option that might work is to have a webinterface running, which registers in Roon as an extension.
