That’s true. But subscriptions in areas like Argentina and Nigeria for tidal did cost peanuts compared to what qobuz is asking … maybe it’s not worth it with local pricing?
(I wouldn’t have a problem with paying more for qobuz , the sublime subscription is worth it )
(If I remember correctly I paid 50 cent something in Argentina per month and 1,50-2$ in Nigeria) .
And tidal is downsizing… they might as well get out of some locations in the future

Charity shops can be a great source of CDs. 3 for £1 usually, I have discovered many new condition original releases this way.

For me streaming services are just a discovery tool. Either by searching new releases or seeing what roon radio picks out.
Once I find something I like, I purchase a download or the CD and rip it.

When Tidal standardized their subs we finished up at R70 = USD 3.5 , they may well go to a std $ rate for all countries rather than the country specific rates.
After all we pay for Roon in USD which for South Africa is a fortune compared to say the US and UK.
If Tidal get out of RSA , we will be left with Apple & Spotify , No Roon integration and complicated connections to HiFi systems , so be it. Lets not pre-judge ?
