I am afraid I don’t know what a soudar group is. To be clear roon was up and running just fine. When we came to log in we used the wrong email address for an expired roon, he was supposed to use his works email.
Sadly roon has no way back from that in the UI which is madness, so there was nothing we could do to re enter the correct email address, it was just a round loop of taking us to the roon website where it said the subscription had expired. Signing out from there had no effect in roon.
As the two ways of stopping the roon service did not work in the linux we were using, and because my life is really rather too short for linux, I just reinstalled the entire Nas software and then installed roon again. I am one of those users that frustrates Linux lovers, in that I am just following instructions I find on line, rather than being an automatic expert in the tangled spaghetti that is linux distros.
Roon really should allow you to enter new credentials, its sort of goes without saying as far as I am concerned. I would hope even ardent roon believers could not argue that point.
And you say ‘just’ use a container via OMV. This is typical of experts to non experts. Even in 26 getting docker up and running in OMV is convoluted. In unraid its beautiful, click a button basically and right there in the ui is the apps section with every docker on gods green earth, click the one you want and you are off to the races. in OMV you have to look up the instructions on line to understand that to even begin that journey you need to find OMV extras, this is not done in ui, has to be done from the command line. Nothing in the UI hints at or offers OMV extras. Why is docker not just in OMV by now? Don’t know! You then have to install some other dependency the name of which I forget. You then have to configure that section, no instructions for newbies is given, online it basically says ‘configure it for docker’. I think there is another step to go then. Then you ‘just’ install your docker, how I don’t know because for non experts this was an hour of my life gone already, so I gave up.
Linux remains as beautifully unfriendly as it ever did!
