Roon Never Ready

I have now been waiting 4 years for my Primare PRE35 Prisma to receive Roon certification. Most of the time has been taken by Primare struggling to produce a firmware update.

Finally on September 1st, 2023 Primare release a firmware update that supports my PRE35 Prisma

Roon Ready update for SC15 Prisma, PRE35 Prisma, CD15 Prisma, and CD35 Prisma, noting that Roon is experiencing a serious certification backlog.

Why when I15 Prisma, I25 Prisma and I35 Prisma are certified Roon Ready is it taking so long to approve the Prisma PRE35? They all have exactly the same firmware!

Two months! How much longer must I wait for the Roon bureaucrats to deliver?

Hi @Quirk

I’m just a fellow Roon user.

Roon do not comment on their Roon Ready certification progress for devices.

I would say if it’s taking a while for your particular device, it might be better to contact the manufacturer of that equipment.

I won’t speculate at possible delays. You have though and I suppose this is the answer.

Your attitude is unfitting here, so better go and bother Primare for advertising and selling unfinished product, no matter how confident they were about attaining Roon Ready at the time.

Some manufacturers prematurely advertise Roon Ready and never accomplish that feat.

Only two months? It’s Roon’s certification process and they get to decide when something becomes Roon Ready.

But they are not the same hardware and likely somethings come up for this model that’s not in the others. Just because the software is the same the components inside and how they all interact is not.

They’ve been a bit of a shambles in recent history. I went through the NP5 debacle when they released poor Roon Ready code before certification leaving Roon to field most of the complaints. They were part of the reason Roon closed that avenue off! So excuse me if I am a little cynical! Think of the two years people have had to wait for them. Not the few weeks you might have to wait for Roon.
