To make matters more interesting, I’m not (yet) knowledgable about networking and feel humbled by this experience. Please be kind in leading me through to the sonic joy I deserve with Roon everywhere I go…
I’m not too knowledgeable about networking but in your log I see “multiplenatfound” and notice you’re using an ISP gateway + router.
This happened to me too and setting my ISP modem to Bridge Mode solved it.
I’m not sure how helpful that link will be.
I posted it as a matter of interest.
There are more knowledgeable folks here who can offer more specific advice.
You have both of them set to create their own networks. There are a couple of ways to handle it. One is to flatten the network so there is only 1 network and that is done by putting one or the other into bridge mode.
The other is to create nested port forwarding rules. Rule 1 from Fios router to Orbi. Rule 2 from Orbi to the Roon core.
Take a read of this:
If your setup involves an ISP-provided gateway (modem/router combination) and your own third-party router:
In the web administration interface of the ISP-provided gateway (modem/router combination), enable Bridge Mode or equivalent, where the ISP-provided gateway does not have DHCP routing enabled.
Alternatively, if you have already created a manual port forwarding rule in your 3rd party router, you can add an additional rule to forward the port through the ISP/second router.
Hi Rugby!
I per your advice (and the article above), I tried to flatten the networks by shutting off the wi-fi on the Verizon modem… I did this because I could not find a “bridge mode” on it.I did that and rebooted all - the Nucleus, the modem and the router. And yet, this is the result from ROON:
Maarten, unfortunately my Verizon Internet Gateway is not the same version. It is the (ASK-NCQ1338) I followed the same steps as in the article you shared in hopes that maybe the difference was cosmetic or minor feature changes, and I discovered just that. The reward for taking the risk with information kindly supplied to me by this magnificent community was success. The Room Gods have smiled upon me and now my Roon Core is ready for Roon ARC! Thank you one and all.
