Roon on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

Has anyone given Roon a try on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS yet?

For the past few weeks, my Roon server has been running on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS instead of ROCK. I wanted to have more control that way. I also have my PLEX server running. I haven’t had any problems at all. Everything is running smoothly and without a hitch.

It took me a while to get everything working, especially accessing the second SSD for the music files. But with Roon’s instructions and some help from AI, I was able to set everything up.

Are you sure? It was released yesterday, and your screenshot shows Ubuntu 24.04.

Oh no, I got the versions mixed up—sorry. I thought I was still up to date!

I use a container for Roon Server, so can’t help here. However, Roon Bridge does install successfully on Ubuntu 26.04*.

*Roon on Wine doesn’t see the audio interfaces on localhost, but they are visible on other remotes, which is the only way to enable a device.

If you give it a try on 26.04 and run into any issues please let me know

I took this opportunity to upgrade my Ubuntu server to version 26.04. Roon has been running smoothly for a few hours now with four different zones.

RAM usage is around 5.3 MB. The CPU is barely being used (5%). So everything seems to be working perfectly fine on my end.

I just upgraded my Roon setup from Ubuntu 24.04 LTS to 26.04 LTS (minimal server, no GUI). It was a smooth upgrade process and everything is working without issues so far.
