I purchased a lifetime subscription for Roon shortly after it came out. I’ love using it because of the interface. But I’ve struggled with the sound quality. I used HQPlayer with previous DACs and didn’t worry about the sound quality. Now I have an Esoteric N-05xd. A lot of the time Roon sounds great streaming to the N-05xd streamer. But sometimes it doesn’t. I’m debating on getting a HQPlayer NAA and going USB into the DAC or working on upgrading my network from the server to the DAC and I’m looking for opinions. I’m running Roon on an i7 running Ubuntu in my office. This is going to a MicroTik switch which converts to fiber. Fiber runs to an etherRegen with Afterdark clock which goes to the DAC through a Stack Audio filter and Cardas Clear ethernet cable. Any opinions would be helpful.
