I just changed the Genre of an old album from Electronica to Alternative, Roon is treating it as a newly added album. There used to be an option to use the date the first time an album was seen as the import date, has that option moved or been removed?
This is causing havoc in my search order and I have had to add IMPORTDATE tags in some cases.

Roon also lost the play counts and favourite selection…
That is what Roon import timestamp is. When I change metadata as long as the album matching is to the same version it won’t show as a new album. How did you change the genre via Roon or via metadata?
That timestamp was reset with the Genre change. It used to work as expected, now it looks like a new album.
How did you change the genre you 100% sure it’s matched to the same version as before?
I edited the metadata and the only change I made was the genre and then changed folder
Very strange.
I’ve fixed the problem, I moved the folder back with the new Genre, cleaned the library and moved again. That worked… Not sure why.
Must have identified it differently somehow
The folder change might have done it if Roon was cueing off of it instead of any embedded metadata you might have had.
