Roon server is not being accepted by DSM 7.2.2

I had my Roon server software on a Synology NAS. That worked perfect. But now I bought another NAS (So I have two now) and the new NAS has DSM 7.2.2 etc. When i tried to install the spk file it was not accepted. It was not for this version of DSM. Anyone familiar with this problem and have a solution? Thank you.

Hi @Hosep_Cakir,

Try searching the forum for “DSM 7.2.2”, there are quite a few discussions some which are marked with solution flags. I hope one of them helps.

Really, for sure? Please post a screenshot of the message here. Also please post the model of your NAS. I know only of a message that complains about the architecture and not DSM per se. Maybe you’re trying to install Roon Sever on an incompatible NAS. A list of compatible models.

For what it’s worth I have a DS723+ with DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 3 and Roon has been working fine for me. Granted, I installed it about 2 years ago (still DM 7.x) and haven’t had to reinstall it. At least that tells you it does work with DSM 7.2.2.

You probably need to download and install:

https://roononnas.org/builds/Synology/RoonServer_Synology_DSM7_x86-64_20220216.spk

This is the screenshot. It says that the file is not compatible with the DSM version.

Thank you. But the same message. “Not compatible with this DSM version”.

I read them. But they had other issues than I have.

“niet ondersteund op het platform van Synology NAS” – means not compatible with the architecture (CPU) of your NAS. Roon is not compatible to the ARM processor architecture. Again: Please share information about the model of your NAS.

The Model is DS423.

For the time being I switch my Music to my other NAS (DS3615xs) and move my Movies folder to the DS423. On my DS3615xs The roon server works fine.

The DS423’s [ARM] CPU is not compatible with Roon Server and this is why you can’t install the Roon Server package on it.

Oké. Thank you very much. Than my solution is the best I can do for now.

To be clear, the DS423+ does work with Roon, just not the DS423. Similar model numbers of course, but different CPUs (Intel vs ARM).
