Roon software on ipad pro 2021 M1 not showing IFI Audio xdsd Gryphon DAC in signal path

I am running roon remote on Ipad pro 2021 M1 and have a usb-c cable attached to the IFI Audio xdsd Gryphon DAC
On the signal path on the roon remote software it states that output is only Apple ipad and headphones…the Ifi audio xdsd gryphon DAC is nowhere in the signal path…this on PCM tracks and MQA tracks…
Is this normal?

iOS doesn’t report back on connected dacs. so they don’t show up in the signal path just output to usb does. Are you getting music out of the DAC ?

Yes. Getting music.
However, don’t see any involvement of Gryphon in the signal path.

Hope I can post screenshot but the device is in warranty service due to power issue.

As I said no dacs on iPads or iPhones will display in the signal path as iOS doesn’t support feeding back about them. You will see Headphones output for iPad and usb output on iPhone. Roon cannot control iOS behaviour. Just play hires files and it should still show as lossless if the DAC supports it.
