I am using China Unicom’s network, using a bridge connection and a public IP. I am using a tplink router. I could use ARC normally before. Later, after I installed openwrt as a bypass router and used as a VPN server, I could no longer use ARC normally. The following error was reported every time I refreshed.
{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkTimeout”,“status_code”:998,“error”:“”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“148.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}
}
Do you use a second router (e.g. a MESH WiFi system) as well as your ISP supplied router?
You say that you have turned uPnP on in your router but Roon is saying that the router that the Roon Server is connected to does not have uPnP enabled.
This suggests that the Roon Server is not connected to the router on which you enabled uPnP but is instead connected to a different router.
Could you please describe your network with regards to how your Roon Server is connected to the ISP connection point. Identify all of the devices in the path and indicate which of these devices you enabled uPnP on.
If you do have two routers in the path from the Roon Server to the internet, then uPnP alone can not work because it does not include a mechanism for the Roon Server to configure the second router in the path.
Once you have described your network I, and other members, will likely be able to help in a much more authoratative way.
Hi @jin_Dg,
Thank you for writing in to ask about this issue. I will echo @Wade_Oram’s questions about your network setup. Once we have that information we will be better able to assist you.
If you’re using a VPN to circumvent a firewall at the level of your provider, then we’ll need to move this thread to Tinkering. Users there can provide more expertise - staff can’t officially endorse methods to bypass geographic restrictions on upstream servers.
