Roon with sonosnet - strange behaviour on low quality stream

Hi,

There have been numerous discussions about roon dropouts when playing through sonos speakers using sonosnet.

I woudl like to get the latest wisdom. I also want to add an observation. I only have this problem when playing lower quality internet radio. I can play dsd files from my library which get downmixed and play really well. No problems. Also if I use a high quality radio stream like Radio Paradise at FLAC 16/44 - no problem. It really is only with lower quality live radio. This seems counterintuitive in that its not a bandwidth problem - is it a buffering problem - not enough data rather than too much??

Any ideas. I have done all the resets, check network, set sonos devices to 16 bit max etc. etc.

If it works at 16/44.1 why not set the stream to play upsample to max PCM X2 in Muse.

You might find it’s not pulling the information fast enough rather than failing on sending the audio, but it will allow you to check that out.

Just spotted your reply Michael. I will give that a try, but is muse set by output device rather than by source?
