RoPieee boot loop when I connect to WiFi

No, because this feedback does not have the ‘configure’ step included. This seems like a feedback that is sent just after the system booted up.

RoPieee decides on this automatically. And yes, for your unit this is set to DE.
The weird thing here is that the German regulations mimic the Dutch regulations, so on 2.4G we also use 1,6, 11. And for me this works…

Please let me know if it contains what you need.

Nope, unfortunately not. It seems that I’m missing logs, which suggests to me that the unit is crashing hard and rebooting…

Yes well let me know if there’s anything else I can do.

In the meantime I got the BrosTrend AX9L dongle from this page: https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/blob/main/home/USB_WiFi_Adapters_that_are_supported_with_Linux_in-kernel_drivers.md#axe3000---usb30---24-ghz-5-ghz-and-6-ghz-wifi-6e

It’s supposed to be plug&play on everything with kernel 5.18+. But when I plugged it in Ropieee doesn’t seem to notice it and can’t use it.

I’m wondering how eaasy it might be to add support for this? Happy to sponsor an adapter for you.

Can you plug it in and send me feedback?

Support is not only required by the kernel, but RoPieee also tries an explicit set of (known) drivers, so that’s probably the reason why it doesn’t work ‘out-of-the-box’.

Thanks

Sure, I rebooted and plugged it in after a minute or so: ff31bcaa93457d03

Thank you for looking into it!

Hi @Gch ,

Can you try this one?

Thanks. Tried it, adapter still doesn’t show up in the list.

Do you have WiFi adapter connected by USB?

Ok thanks.

Adapter is recognized, that’s the good thing. But the firmware for the adapter is missing, which causes an issue.

I’ll get back to you.

Thanks

Hi @Gch

Thanks! This one works! The adapter is recognized and I can connect on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. It has trouble reconnecting on reboot (I have to unpower it and power it again) but tbh I think this is not software-related. Thanks a lot!
