Ropieee custom boot screen

I run Ropieee with touch screen, and very happy with it.
Is it possible to use a boot-image instead of watching the startup command lines?

Yes you can add custom boot splash and add it to the grub configuration file.

But last time I checked, Ropieee disabled SSH but maybe I’m wrong.

RoPieee does not use GRUB.
Changing RoPieee’s bootscreen is not possible. If you want to go that route I suggest you install a more generic Linux distro.
