OK, So here is the “It IS Prog!” playlist. It is only 10 tracks, but, as the size of these tracks are large it is long. As opposed to the previous playlist, this is filled with, to me, tracks which are indisputably prog.
The focus was on the birth of prog, late 60s early 70s. This was pretty much book-ended by King Crimson in '69 to Rush in '76.
I own 2 of those albums! I’m a 20% Prog Head - oh the shame!
which probably fits in with our conversation about the usefulness or even futility of genre classification – I think someone said there’s two types of music good music and bad music, I suppose I would paraphrase this slightly into there are two types of music for me - music I like and music that I don’t particularly like– so in any particular genre that I like such as punk, rockabilly, reggae or Irish traditional - I won’t like every album by every artist, obviously.
I won’t like (or dislike) music because of its genre but for some genres I’m probably more likely to prefer a greater percentage of that genre.

Yes, fine. Was a bit adrenalized at the time, which was later resolved by wine. Car needs some body work but the other driver’s (who was at fault) insurance is covering it.

I mentioned a video of Them doing Gloria. There is a good French film clip of that from 1965 on YouTube. But this is the actual film clip I was thinking of and, of course, its a different song - Baby Please Don’t Go. Feel the energy:
Actually, given that no one is playing the harmonica, there are no mikes and the reverb on the guitar, it’s probably lip synced to the record. But its still fun.

Probably highly unlikely to be free for any meeting until after house move complete in April.
Too much packing still to do😔
Dan,
Thank you for getting in touch with Roon Support for me. It worked this morning for the first time, it let me sign in on the Roon Community.

Also, Fascination Street might be the best composition ever written. I don’t think there is a version of this song I’ve disliked. The version on this album… yes, accepted. Proves my point.
Now… One of the prized things in my collection is “Side Show”. The Cure did a live album, “Show” in 1993. However, the CD dropped something like 5 tracks from the LP because of play time and not wanting to press a second CD. Without “Side Show”, which was released limited and binned in the “singles” sections of record stores, owners of “Show” missed this version of Fascination Street. I’m not even sure this single was released to streaming platforms.
