the unique situation in the us:
The current royalty structure
The music industry is divided into two primary copyrights:

Composition: The underlying music and lyrics, owned by the songwriter and publisher.
Sound recording: The specific recording of a performance of the composition, owned by the recording artist and often the record label.

Under U.S. law, when an AM/FM station plays a song:

They pay performance royalties to songwriters and publishers through performing rights organizations (PROs) like ASCAP and BMI.
They pay nothing to the performers or the owners of the sound recording

Recap

Another version / release of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. Are there too many?

Neil Young vs Geffen Records. Discussed the less than pleasant relationship between Young and his record label. How did that affect the musical output. How did that lead to “Trans” (which by the way I do like a lot).

Steve Wilson interview with Beato discussing his favorite albums. Did not expect “Ummagumma” to be the most listened to.

Discussed options for a new power amp. Price jumps and availability in the US of asian based equipment. Discussed the Holo May and Cyan2 in regards to affect of Tariffs.

Discussed an over the top Brunch option in Washington:

Quote of the Day attributed to Captain Goodvibes:
“We have reached the crossroads of ■■■■■■■■ and reality. Light scoobs and start wanking.”

Nickelback. Were they really “that bad”?

Also, Phil Collins is a great drummer, check out Brand X.
