I don’t know if Ctrl+A ever worked in these situations and I am not quite sure what to use it for. However, maybe it helps to know that on PC remotes you don’t have to manually select them one by one. This is for Windows, don’t know how it is on Mac but most likely something similar:
- Select the first artist from the range with a right mouse click
- Press and hold the Shift key
- Left- or right-click the last artist in the range you want to select
You can deselect individual artists from the selected range by clicking them.
You can also select 2 or more individual ranges together:
- Right-click the first artist in the first range
- Press and hold Shift
- Left- or right-click the last artist in the first range you want to select. (The first range is now selected)
- Release the Shift key
- Left- or right-click the first artist in the second range you want to select
- Press and hold Shift
- Left- or right-click the last artist in the second range you want to select. (The first and second ranges are now selected)
On mobile remotes I guess that you do have to tap each one to add to the selection.
I note that in track lists, where Ctrl+A definitely should work, there is a “Select” menu top left if you select one item, and you can choose Select All from there. And Ctrl+A also works.
In the scenarios you described, there is no such menu (it just says “1 selected”). Meaning that IF this worked before, it’s probably not just the Ctrl+A that disappearead but the whole Select All functionality. (However as mentioned at the start, I don’t know what it would be good for)
