I have just acquired an Okto Pro8 Mulichannel dac which I initially need to set up as a stereo dac in Roon. I use Sonicorbiter software .Any help would be useful. I have gone into Audio settings but sonicorbiter is not showing the dac which is of course connected to my server via usb.
Any ideas?
Probably a stupid question but is the Okto Pro8 powered up. I have several dacs that don’t show up in roon unless they are on.
The ExaSound S88 8 channel dac is one that doesn’t appear in the Roon Audio setup unless it is powered on. It is setup for multi-channel playback but it plays whatever channel count roon sends over. No special setup for Stereo.
Are you attempting to run the Okto dac8pro through Roon? I have a WS2019 server that runs through a microrendu with OS2.9 to my Okto dac8pro. Assuming a sonicorbiter has the same selections, have you set the OS to Roon (as compared, in my case, to NAA as I use HQPlayer controlled by Roon for stereo, 5.1 MCH and 5.1.2 Atmos playback upscaled to DSD.)
I’ve never run my Okto DAC through Roon alone. I see in Roon audio settings for my main server that an Okto Research USB Audio Device appears. It’s an ASIO driver. At least on my Roon install, I get a Device Initialization Failed error message when I just attempted to enable that method. That could be because I haven’t set my own microrendu to Roon.
It’ll be a great DAC once you get it running. JCR
