Settings T+A DAC 200 with HQplayer embedded

A good case will last for a long time. I still have a Silverstone case I use for htpc, it looks like a stereo component.

I am trying to upsample to DSD128 or 256 but hqplayer embedded breaks every few seconds regardles of the modulator ASDM7E or 5E . Upsampling to DSD64 works fine.
My pc powered by 2 x xeon 4114 cpus .
When i checked htop i see the load is around 25% and hqplayer is not using all 20 cores.
Is that normal ?

What filters are you using?

@Stefano_Antonelli

With DAC 200 you can enable “48k DSD” and “Auto rate family”. Also set output rate limit to multiple of 48k, so for example 6144000.

Also when using that 1x filter, try choosing the one with -2s suffix.

These things will lower your CPU load.

You could also try ASDM7EC-ul modulator.

thanks for your tips helped to smooth play dsd128 , i am trying to use dac correction but log file shows downloading… NO such file or directory i am using latest hqplayer embedded 5.9.1

Which OS is this on?

GentooPlayer

I think you need to ask GentooPlayer people. I suspect their packaging of HQPlayer has some mistakes.

edit my mistake

Jussi - to confirm, if my setup is HQP>NAA>T+A200……

I should not set HQP on my iMac to DoP?

Thanks,
Bruce

Yes, it is not necessary, since Linux based NAA’s can do native DSD, so no need for DoP.

Thank you. And that would be the case regardless of DAC as long as an NAA is used?

Not regardless of DAC, only when the audio driver in the Linux kernel on your NAA is compatible with the DAC.

Jussi – how can we tell what version HQP NAA is being used when it’s embedded in my Innuos Zenith? I’ve sent their support team a question asking what version it is, but have not yet heard back.

From HQPlayer log file, version of each NAA is reported there.
