Are the 10gtek media converters a suitable choice for this application (used with the Finisar transceivers), or do folks have other recommendations?
I am not sure about use for use in a Lumin streamer but I have hundreds of 10gtek sfp and sfp+ adapters in my corporate enterprise network and they have been pretty flawless over several years.
Good prices as well, and I always keep spares just in case
If the price difference is not much, you may also consider unmanaged SFP switches like this:

We have not tested this switch with Finisar though.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Media converter is $20, switch $55. Iāll give the 10gtek a runā¦if it doesnāt work well, I can send it back to Amazon and try the switch.
I tried to buy the components recommended on the Lumin site, but they were not available on Amazon.ca After some research I purchased some other relatively cheap stuff on Amazon.ca 10Gtek SFP Transceiversā¦ Combined with a Dlink Switch and CableMatters optical cable, it all works well and Iām happy!

Iāve had that exact 10Gtek transceiver in my Cisco 2960 switch for 1.5 years. No problems with it at all.
